About me

Glad you found your way here.

I'm Leah—a social worker, yoga teacher, and systematic counselor in training. I'd like to briefly introduce myself so you can get a better idea of who I am—not just professionally, but as a person.

I was born and raised in Karlsruhe, Germany, in a Scout family – shaped by a sense of community, a closeness to nature, and the experience of taking on responsibility in groups. From an early age, I developed a great love of creative design: whether through drawing, handicrafts, or designing and implementing my own projects.

My love of movement came later in my life. Today, I find balance in hiking, cycling, and going to the gym. However, yoga practice is particularly enriching for me—not only for the exercises on the mat, but especially for the inner attitude behind them.

I live a fundamental attitude characterized by mindfulness, compassion, and presence – inspired by the principle of Karma Yoga. For me, it's about conscious action without expectation of a result, about being honest, listening genuinely, and being mindful of one another. This approach is complemented by methods such as breathing techniques, meditation, and mindfulness, which can help you find calm and clarity in everyday life.

My path

After graduating from high school, I did a voluntary social year with the Boy Scouts in Cape Town – my first time living in a different culture for an extended period. There, I realized how different life realities can be – and how important it is to approach things with openness and respect.

Back in Germany, I studied International Social Work in Freiburg. Afterward, I was drawn back out into the world: I lived and worked as a social worker on a small fishing island in Northern Norway. There, I worked in a school with a boy diagnosed with ADHD. I designed creative learning methods, primarily outdoors, to open up new learning opportunities for him and provide him with support outside of class. I also worked night shifts with a girl with Rett syndrome who required continuous care.

Afterwards, I moved back to Cape Town, where I worked in customer service for German-speaking customers.

After deciding to return to Germany, I first worked in a daycare center and a kindergarten. I then worked in residential youth welfare, where I was able to support young women between the ages of 16 and 21 in their daily lives. The goal of this facility was to prepare the residents step by step for independent living and living alone.

After two years in Germany, I traveled to Indonesia to complete my yoga training and subsequently worked as a yoga teacher in Sri Lanka. Along the way, I met people from diverse backgrounds, learned languages, experienced cultures, tried new things—and repeatedly came to the same realization:
Despite all our differences, we are united by the same basic need – for love, belonging and recognition.

My work

In my work, one thing is particularly important to me: appreciation. I approach each person with genuine interest in their own world, with impartiality, and an eye for available resources. I believe in constructivism – in the idea that everyone is the expert in their own life. My approach is gentle, authentic, and empathetic. I'm not here to dictate solutions – but to accompany, reflect, and encourage you.

What I love: Opening spaces where people can feel themselves. Where the voices in their heads quiet down. Where, for a moment, everything else takes a break—and you can find yourself.
